Ok, Italy is over, could have done better, could have done much much worse!  But!  With all the walking I lost 8.2 pounds!!!  Great motivation to start my new healthy life plan!  You may wonder why I say 8.2 pounds, when I wrote my original post I added my weight in at 285 pounds.  It was really 288.  I was rounding.  Enough of that.  I’m telling it like it is baby!  Was 288, now 279.2!

Today’s weight: 279.8 (down 8.2)
Short term goal: 20 pounds in 90 days.  Goal weight for January 29, 2014 (90 days from starting my blog): 268
Plan: weight watchers and exercise.
What do I need to do? Join Weight Watchers, develop Menu plans and shopping lists, do food prep right after shopping so no excuses, and plan my exercise daily, at least an average of 40 min a day.

Calling all diet bloggers: what are your favorite veggie dishes?  I’m not a cook, but I love veggies. If I can find some good recipes for veggies maybe I can tone down the junk!  I love salads and cooked veggies. The easier the better!

Any walkers out there?  I walk because it’s cheap and I can do it anywhere.  What motivates you?  What do you think about or listen to?  I need help and I know there are lots of you out there just like me. Let’s pool our resources and all get healthy!

I also have a wii and wii fit. What works for others of you out there?

8.2 pounds lost is amazing!! Excellent job!!

Love that you’re setting short term goals! I find that really helps!

As far as foods and food prep, I personally grocery shop on Sunday and then prep and cook my meals Sunday evening so I just have to reheat or barely cook during the week nights. It makes life so much easier and that way there are no excuses to not wanting to come home after work and cook!

I watch The Biggest Loser on Tuesday nights and it always motivates me to exercise. Also, find an exercise you love. Wii and Wii Fit are great options!

A great and simple way to eat vegetables is to roast them. I roast every veggie imaginable from okra to butternut squash to carrots to brussels sprouts. Add maybe a teaspoon of oil to your veggies (a teaspoon per serving) along with salt and pepper and roast at 400 degrees until done.

Another great way to get veggies in is to eat tomato sauce. You can make your own or use store bought. Then you add extra veggies to your tomato sauce such as carrots, celery, onion, and bell peppers. Just sauté the veggies first for the best flavor.

A big pot of boiled cabbage or a big pot of vegetable soup are great to always have on hand. They’re a good go to when you’re hungry but don’t have a lot of calories left for the day. Throw any vegetable into your vegetable soup such as onions, carrots, celery, zucchini, squash, tomatoes, beans, cabbage, etc.

    Hope this helps!
