Sprint to May Challenge

What a great idea!  If you haven’t heard about this check out newfoundfitness, or weight2lose2013 and the Sprint to May Challenge. Anyone can join.  This may be just what I need to get me to the next step.

This is what I need to do to join, so here goes:

Bio: 53 yo, female, work FT, overweight as far back as I can remember.  Currently I’m 274, and aching to lose at least 100 pounds so I can live life to the fullest.  For now, I’m trying to eat cleaner but it’s certainly a struggle.  Not only a struggle, this is very new to me.  For 53 years I’ve hardly cooked, hardly exercised, and have eaten fast food or restaurant food several meals a week.  I’ve been trying to improve over the last 2.5 months.  I’ve made progress, but I have a long road ahead.  I’m looking for supportive people to come along on this journey.  I think we can all help each other reach our goals.

  1. Great bio! I know what you mean by struggle. It is not easy, but being obese (in my case) is even harder. It’s because of this that I choose the struggle to eat better each day. I think you can do it too. I look forward to all the progress you make in these next five months. Thank you once again for joining us.

You can do this! It is going to be hard but we are behind you. I often get take away meals or go to restaurants when I am out and about. I try to order as best as I can for instance steamed rice instead of fried rice, Pasta with a tomato sauce rather than a creamy sauce, Not having both a started and desert or sharing both.
I have found eating slowly helps as well. It is so easy to get a take away home and put the tv on and just munch away mindlessly.
Sorry if you’ve been told all this before, Good luck!

Today I’m featuring Anonymous Fat Lady (Lady). Lady started her journey back in October on the eve of a vacation to Italy. With an amusing telling of her time in Italy, she was determined to succeed. She did just that! Before the holidays, Lady had a small setback, but she maintained her focus and overcame that setback. She is using this Challenge to stay motivated and on track to reach her goals. Read more about her, her goals, and her amazing journey on her blog.

Excellent bio! Soon you’ll change it from being a struggle, to a battle, and then one day the battle will be won and you’ll have a victory.
